Beyond the Bubble International Film Festival was created with a simple idea: great independent films shouldn't have to come from familiar places, familiar names, or familiar circles to find an audience.
Based in Peachtree City, Georgia, Beyond the Bubble brings together local, national, and international filmmakers and gives their stories a place to be seen, shared, and discussed.
Our inaugural event in September 2026 turned that idea into something tangible, bringing independent films from Georgia and around the world to the screen in Peachtree City. As we grow, the mission stays the same: discover new stories, create new connections, and reach beyond the bubble.

How do I submit my film or screenplay?
What kind of projects is BtB looking for?
Is every submission reviewed?
All submissions are accepted exclusively through FilmFreeway. Create a FilmFreeway account, upload your project, select the appropriate category, and complete your submission before the deadline. Both films and screenplays are eligible for consideration.
We’re looking for bold, original, and memorable storytelling from filmmakers near and far. Whether your project is a short film, documentary, screenplay, experimental work, comedy, horror, drama, science fiction, or something completely unique, we want to discover creative voices with something worth sharing. Great stories can come from anywhere—and that’s exactly the point.
Yes. Every submission receives genuine consideration from our review team. Beyond the Bubble is selective, and Official Selection status is earned. Projects are evaluated on their strengths in storytelling, creativity, execution, and overall impact.

What awards does BtB present?
BtB recognizes excellence across a wide range of categories for both films and screenplays. Film awards may include Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, and our top honor, the Golden Bubble Award.
Screenplay awards may include Best Screenplay, Best Short Screenplay, Best Feature Screenplay, Best Screenwriter, Best Story, Best Characters, Best Dialogue, and Best Concept, along with other special recognition when warranted. Award categories may vary from season to season based on the submissions received.
Why submit to Beyond the Bubble?
Beyond the Bubble was created to discover stories and filmmakers from outside the usual circles. Our selections bring together local, national, and international voices, with selected films considered for applicable awards and potential screening opportunities at our live events in Peachtree City, Georgia. We want BtB to be a place where new stories are discovered, new connections are made, and independent work gets the opportunity to be seen.
How much does it cost?
We believe submitting to a film festival should be affordable. Standard film submissions to Beyond the Bubble are $15, with special $10 Film Race entries for eligible films created through 24, 48, 72, or 100-hour filmmaking competitions. Short Screenplays are $25 and Feature Screenplays are $50.

What can screenwriters expect when they submit?
Every screenplay submitted to Beyond the Bubble receives individualized written feedback based on the actual script, whether or not it is selected.
Our feedback discusses specific strengths and/or weaknesses we found in areas such as concept, story, structure, characters, dialogue, and overall execution. For scripts that are not selected, we aim to provide useful insight into why the screenplay did not advance. For stronger scripts, the feedback can also highlight elements that stood out to our judges.
Selected screenplays are considered for all applicable screenplay awards, including recognition for specific elements of the writing.
We believe that if a writer invests in submitting their work, they deserve more than a form acceptance or rejection.
What can filmmakers expect if their film is selected?
Officially Selected films are considered for all applicable BtB awards and may be invited to screen at our live events in Peachtree City. Selected filmmakers receive festival recognition and promotional materials they can use on websites, social media, press kits, and future marketing. Above all, we want Beyond the Bubble to give independent filmmakers another opportunity to put their work in front of an audience and connect with people who appreciate independent film.
